Open to individuals currently working in the Rehabilitation field.
Open to individuals employed in rehabilitation support roles, e.g.: Rehab Techs, counselor support, job placement specialists, job coaches, etc. Also open to individuals working in allied professions, e.g.: businesses, educators, occupational and/or physical therapists, psychologists, etc.
Open to individuals in their first year working as a rehabilitation professional.
Open to those who are not working in the field but who have a stake in how rehabilitation services are provided, or how the rehab. programs are operated or managed. This includes those who are interested in the legislation or policies that affect rehabilitation. Some examples are people with disabilities themselves, parents, advocates, family members or concerned citizens.
Michigan Rehabilitation Counselors And Educators Association (MRCEA): Membership includes educators and counselors employed in both public and private settings. Recognizing the broad base of persons with disabilities, MRCEA promotes continued learning opportunities for current and future professionals, to ensure that those in the field of rehabilitation stay up-to-date about professional industry trends.
Job Placement Division (JPD): JPD focuses on employment-related services for individuals with disabilities. The Job Placement Division supports professionals who assist people with disabilities in securing and maintaining meaningful employment. JPD provides resources, training, and networking opportunities for vocational rehabilitation counselors, job placement specialists, and other professionals involved in employment services. Their work includes best practices in job development, employer engagement, and workplace accommodations to ensure successful job placements for individuals with disabilities.
Michigan Association of Multicultural Rehabilitation Concerns (MAMRC): MAMRC is dedicated to promoting multicultural competence and addressing the unique rehabilitation needs of individuals from diverse racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds. AMRC focuses on four areas, including: Advocacy for equitable rehabilitation services for historically underserved populations; Education and training to enhance cultural competence among rehabilitation professionals; Research and policy development to address disparities in rehabilitation services; and networking and mentorship opportunities for professionals committed to diversity and inclusion in vocational rehabilitation.
